Because every stage is on one site, a fault you find can be walked back to the bench that made it the same day. Most factories cannot offer that, and it is the part of this job that makes the checking worth doing.
The reference is always the pair the customer signed off, never an opinion. That is what makes this job arguable in the right way — when you stop a pair, you can point at the sample and say why.
What the day holds
- Checking finished pairs against the approved sample: shape, colour, stitching, sole and finish.
- Pulling anything that does not match, and walking it back to the bench that made it.
- Checking pairing, sizing and labelling before a pair goes into its box.
- Keeping the record of what was checked and what went back.
- Working alongside a customer’s own inspector when one visits the plant.
What we look for
